The Athletics have acquired first baseman Kila Ka'aihue from the Royals for minor league pitcher Ethan Hollingsworth. Oakland recalled and transferred Joey Devine to the 60-day disabled list to open a spot on the roster for Ka'aihue. Ka'aihue was designated for assignment by the Royals last Wednesday.

The Diamondbacks have acquired left-handed reliever Mike Zagurski from the Phillies for a player to be named later. Zagurski, 28, had a 5.40 ERA with four strikeouts in four games with Philadelphia this season. He also went 4-0 with 11 saves and a 2.65 ERA in 46 games with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The Mets have acquired left-hander Daniel Herrera and right-hander Adrian Rosario from the Brewers to complete their July trade involving reliever Francisco Rodriguez.

The Red Sox have obtained outfielder/first baseman Conor Jackson from the Athletics in exchange for minor league reliever Jason Rice. Jackson was hitting .249 with four home runs and 38 RBIs for Oakland.
